BSCB holds a Spring Meeting each year designed to cover a broad range of topics in cell biology. In recent years, this meeting has been held jointly with the BSDB. Spring meetings consist of:
- four or five half day sessions on various aspects of the subject
- symposia on a topics of special current interest
- poster sessions at which the BSCB Young Cell Biologist of the Year is selected
- the Hooke Lecture at which the premier prize of the Society, the Hooke Medal, is awarded
- and the BSCB AGM
The BSCB runs the Honor Fell / Company of Biologists Travel Awards, which provide financial help to members of the society at the start of their scientific carriers to attend meetings relevant to Cell Biology.
There is generally a BSCB Autumn Meeting of a more specialist nature.
The BSCB Meetings Secretary welcomes suggestions for meeting topics from members or potential organizers. The BSCB Committee will consider requests for support of other meetings.
